econext, Fundamental Inc. and FCM Help Six Municipalities in Newfoundland and Labrador Transition to a Cleaner Future

econext (still NEIA at the time) is proud to have facilitated the Transition 2050 project throughout 2019 and 2020. Funded by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and in partnership with Fundamental Inc., the project led a cohort of six NL municipalities through a climate action planning process – the target being a transition to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The process began by measuring the carbon footprint of each Town’s municipal operations, and the resulting action plans were kicked-off via a keystone project.

The video above highlights the solar energy projects undertaken in the Town of Bauline and the Town of Torbay.

Podcasts highlighting the initiatives of the other partner municipalities – Town of Stephenville, Town of Paradise, Town of Channel-Port Aux Basques, Town of Baie Verte – will be launched shortly.
