Glenn Sharp

Mr. Sharp is the lead senior engineer for his two firms Wetland Treatment Solutions and Sharp Management. He is an environmental wetland specialist, with over 25 years of innovative and leading work in this field. He has designed and implemented more wetland designs in Canada through his current work and through his original firm Abydoz Environmental than any other designer in Canada. He is responsible for the largest all natural (no added aeration systems) engineered wetland designed projects, and the engineered wetland projects with the highest treatment performance in Canada. He has designed large municipal centralized Wetland Wastewater Treatment Systems for Stephenville, Appleton-Glenwood, Bishop’s Falls and numerous smaller decentralized municipal systems for the NL Provincial Government, Quispamsis in NB, Marystown, Holyrood, Buchans Junction, Duck Pond Mine, Circle Square Ranch and many others.

Mr. Sharp has designed the industrial engineered wetland system to treat the landfill leachate for the Central Newfoundland Waste Management Authority (CNWM) in Norris Arm, and a pilot system for landfill leachate treatment in Trinidad & Tobago. He is an accomplished engineer with an exceptional track record. He has been a guest speaker and presented his work at numerous conferences in Canada and Internationally. Through Sharp Management Mr. Sharp has led the way in Carbon Offsets in Eastern Canada with the first generation of Carbon Offsets from Municipal Infrastructure for Sewage Treatment, with his personally designed Wetland Treatment Systems. Sharp Management was the first and still the only firm in Newfoundland to generat and selling certified Carbon Offsets, allowing companies and individuals to reduce or eliminate their carbon footprint.

Through Sharp Management over $100,000 of funds have been presented to towns for their portion of sales from these carbon Offsets. Additionally, Mr. Sharp was recognized in 2019 with the Environmental Industry Champion Award for the Province of Newfoundland & Labrador by NEIA (Newfoundland Environmental Industry Association) now rebranded as econext.
