Lat49 Architecture Inc.

LAT49 Architecture Inc. is a multi-disciplinary architectural firm based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, that provides creative architectural solutions to clients across Atlantic Canada. LAT49 is currently the largest architectural firm in Newfoundland and Labrador and it is 100% locally owned. Given our portfolio of work and the ownership structure, LAT49 is well positioned to provide carbon sensitive designs to our clients.

The architects and technologists that are Lat49 Architecture Inc. have a vision for the built environment of our home, Atlantic Canada. It is a vision based on a foundation of scale and context, but it is one that reflects a tradition of adventure, a history of ingenuity and sense of independence. Our environment presents many challenges, but architectural design must rise above these, otherwise it is without merit. Our aim is to find our role in this grand place. We envision something better, an architecture that speaks to us and to all those who experience it, an architecture that is sensitive to the environment. LAT49 is committed to providing our clients quality design with the best service possible to ensure that projects are successful, responsible and enduring.

The firm’s project base includes major offshore oil and gas production facilities on the east coast of Canada, hospitals, post secondary educational facilities, multi-unit residence, schools, community centres, corporate and government offices, retail premises, lighthouses, marine-service buildings, theatres, institutional buildings and recreational facilities. LAT49 have also undertaken a wide range of studies including Carbon Neutral, building envelope assessments, thermographic inspection, master planning, building feasibility, functional programming, land use, energy management, urban and sub-urban design, accessibility anaylsis (including the Rick Hansen Foundation Certification Assessment), environmental and abatement assessments and associated remediation documentation.
