Abraxas / Exploits Valley Renewable Energy Corporation

Exploits Valley Renewable Energy Corporation “EVREC” is a P2X mega project located in the central region of Newfoundland, Canada. EVREC was awarded by the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, securing over 300 square kilometres of crown lands. EVREC will include a +3 GW onshore wind project with its associated energy and molecular storage powering behind-the-meter hydrogen H2 and ammonia NH3 production. We anticipate generating 200,000 tons of green H2 and 1,000,000 tons of green NH3 annually. EVREC will have its own dedicated port infrastructure to export its products to global markets.

Braya Renewable Fuels

The Braya Renewable Fuels refinery in Come By Chance, Newfoundland and Labrador is a repurposed petroleum refinery that is being converted into a renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel production facility. The facility is expected to commence operations in late 2023.

The refinery’s strategic location enables it to source low-carbon intensity feedstocks from anywhere in the world while delivering sustainable fuels to low-carbon markets along both US coasts.

Qalipu Development Corporation is the business investment arm of the Qalipu First Nation (QFN). It is an independent, arms-length entity responsible for managing the QFN investment interests, businesses, and properties. QDC is an incorporated company which also oversees several other QFN business operations including Mi’kmaq Commercial Fisheries (MCF). Aside from managing the Band’s existing portfolio of investments, the QDC also aggressively pursues new business opportunities in the fisheries, forestry, agricultural and technology sectors. Both the QDC and MCF are profitable, self-sustaining companies.

QDC is actively involved in the renewable sector with several joint venture and business partnerships in place related to wind energy, advanced wind energy training, transportation and logistics.
